"Goodnight mother.."
Short of Elephant Dreams
"Kid ... let's run fast!" Shouted Mother who was running fast, crossed the thick grass.
That afternoon the more the heat, the sweat flooded my body. My breath is irregular. My big legs are trying to keep going bigger than usual. Occasionally I complained to myself, "God! Why are they chasing us .. God! I'm afraid.."
My only complaint is in my heart. Because, the mother once said that complaining is useless. Because, more useful when pressed like this afternoon is running!
"Mom ... wait .." I shouted.
I saw my brothers also running as fast as possible. To make the ground tremble, because of our great bodies. I was totally exhausted, almost desperate and stopped. But, I was afraid of being caught by a big net or a bullet that was aimed at me by them. Those who are always chasing to take our ivory.
"Mom ... mom, mom where ..?"
I started to panic. I did not find my mother. He disappeared from my sight. Is it because my legs are not able to pursue them, or they are too much to run.
* Tar!
I gasped, at the sound of an eruption echoing in the middle of the forest. I became increasingly panicked, because the direction of the sound was exactly the last time I still saw my mother. I'm still hiding behind a thick bush, though still some of my body still looks. Here, I'm only three with my brother. Our faces are pale.
The people's voices slowly disappeared, I began to catch my breath and the three of us walked towards the other crowd. The forest was silent, different from 20 minutes ago when we were doing chase scenes, keeping alive.
Just like the others, after coming out of the hideout we look for a father, mother or relative. Me, only me who can not find my mother. I ran fast, toward where the sound of eruption. And ...
"Mother ..." I shouted, tears streaming down my cheeks until the trunk.
"Hey ... banguunn!" The voice I knew suddenly surprised me.
"Huh, Mother?" I asked incredulously.
"The nights are shouting? Mother is here son, beside you .. Drink this first "plead Mom while thrusting water in coconut shell.
"I'm a dream?" I asked silently.
"Why are you shouting son?" My mother asked.
"Ah it's ok .." I do not dare say about my dream, because it's too bad for me. I got up from my bed, then settled down next to my mother. I grabbed his trunk, then put it together with my belalu.
"God, do not let my mother go first, before I can find my own food .." I murmured to myself, then closed my eyes again.
